After the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, the embryo has already matured to about the size of a matchbox. This is made possible, among other things, by the mother’s supply of nutrients via the umbilical cord. Through this important contact, the baby reaches many nutrients that are needed for the formation of organs and bones and their growth. One healthy, balanced diet of the mother in this phase is therefore particularly important.

The ingredients of Elevit ^® 2

The composition of Elevit ^® 2 is tailored to the maturing process of the unborn child from the 13th week of pregnancy. Included are:

• 400 micrograms Folate , including 200 micrograms of Metafolin ^®1 (the bioactive form of folate, which women with folic acid utilization disorders also benefit from) and 200 micrograms of folic acid. Folate has a role in cell division.
• Omega-3 fatty acids such as docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) to support the development of the child's eyes and brain*, and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)
• iron as well as the vitamins b ₆ and _B12 for normal blood formation
• Vitamin D for normal bone function
• selenium and iodine for normal thyroid function
• Other ingredients: zinc, biotin, niacin, pantothenic acid, magnesium, copper, provitamin A and vitamins _B1 , _B2 , C and E
