What is Voltaren Pain Relief Gel forte?

Voltaren forte with the active ingredient diclofenac is a painkiller gel for application or rubbing into the skin. The gel relieves pain in acute swelling, strains or sprains that occur, for example, as a result of accidents or sports injuries. Voltaren Pain Gel forte can also be used to relieve pain caused by sore muscles.

You can initially treat mild to moderately severe pain yourself with a pain gel such as Voltaren forte. Your pharmacist will advise you on the selection of the right painkiller in the appropriate dosage form. In addition to treating acute symptoms, determining the cause of the pain is also of great importance for long-term freedom from symptoms. If the pain persists or the symptoms worsen, please seek medical advice.

Voltaren pain gel forte is available in our mail-order pharmacy without a prescription in various pack sizes of 30 g, 100 g, 150 g, 180 g or 300 g. The 30 gram tube is opened with a screw cap. The tubes from 100 g have a click closure that can be easily opened with one hand.

How does Voltaren Pain Gel forte work?

Voltaren Pain Gel forte is used for the symptomatic treatment of pain and has an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect. The gel from Voltaren contains the proven active ingredient diclofenac in double concentration*, which inhibits an enzyme in the body that causes pain and inflammatory reactions.
Applied to the skin, the active ingredient accumulates in the painful and inflamed tissue and has a local and long-lasting effect where it is needed.
Applied twice a day, preferably in the morning and evening, the body builds up a depot with the active ingredient diclofenac at the site of application. In this way, complaints such as pain after sports injuries are alleviated throughout the day.

What is the difference between pain ointment and Voltaren pain gel forte?

Pain ointments or pain gels are used to relieve pain after blunt trauma such as bruises, sprains or strains. For this purpose, the ointments or gels, which differ in their production and composition, are applied to the painful areas of the skin. Pain ointments are semi-solid preparations that do not contain water, while a pain gel consists of at least two different components, a liquid and a solid phase. The latter is also called a gelling agent. Voltaren forte is an emulsion gel, also called Cremogel or Emulgel.

Instructions for use and dosage

Voltaren forte pain gel from the tube with a practical click cap (the 30 gram tube has a screw cap) is used twice a day on the painful area to relieve pain.
The duration of use should not exceed three weeks without medical advice. If the cause of the pain is unclear, please consult a doctor immediately.

How to apply Voltaren forte:

1. The pain gel is applied thinly to the skin over the bruise, strain or sprain.
2. Massage the gel into the skin.
3. If the hands are not the area to be treated, first clean them with a paper towel after application and then wash them.
4. Dispose of the paper towel in the residual waste.
5. After use, store the tube upright on the cap.

If you would like to put on a bandage after application, please allow a few minutes to take effect so that the pain gel can dry on the treated skin area.

Voltaren forte is not suitable for use on open injuries, inflammation or skin infections.
In adolescents over 14 years of age, Voltaren Pain Relief Gel forte is intended for short-term use (maximum 7 days). Children under the age of 14 and pregnant women in the last trimester of pregnancy must not use Voltaren forte to relieve pain.

Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the pack or the outer packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
