How does Betaisodona solution work?
As a rule, there is an acidic environment in wounds, and this is exactly where the povidone-iodine complex works. The active ingredient represents an iodine depot, which releases iodine in a delayed manner, thus ensuring a long-lasting effect.
Compared to alcoholic iodine solutions, povidone-iodine is more tolerable and does not burn, as the iodine largely loses its skin-irritating properties by binding to povidone. This enables Betaisodona® to be used comfortably without burning the skin.
Field of use:
For single use: Disinfection of the intact external skin or antiseptic of the mucous membrane such as: B. before operations, biopsies, injections, punctures, blood samples and bladder catheterizations. For repeated, time-limited use: Antiseptic wound treatment (e.g. pressure sores, leg ulcers), burns, infected and superinfected dermatoses. Surgical hand disinfection.
Composition:
100 ml Betaisodona® solution contains 10 g povidone-iodine with a content of 11%
available iodine.
