Pantoprazole ADGC 20 mg gastro-resistant tablets

The drug belongs to the so-called proton pump inhibitors. These work by blocking the production of stomach acid. This effectively reduces the amount of acid in the stomach.

Pantoprazole ADGC is used for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms (e.g. heartburn, acid regurgitation) in adults. Reflux is the backflow of stomach acid into the esophagus, which can become painfully inflamed. This can cause symptoms such as a painful burning sensation in the chest that rises up to the throat (heartburn) and a sour taste in the mouth (acid reflux). Your symptoms of reflux and heartburn may be relieved after just one day of treatment with Pantoprazole ADGC, but this medicine may not provide immediate relief. It may be necessary to take the tablets for 2-3 consecutive days to relieve symptoms.

Application

Take one tablet daily. Do not exceed this recommended daily dose of 20 mg pantoprazole.

Take this medicine for at least 2-3 consecutive days. Stop taking Pantoprazole-ADGC when you are completely free of symptoms. Your symptoms of acid regurgitation and heartburn may be relieved after just one day of treatment with Pantoprazole ADGC, but this medicine may not provide immediate relief.

If you do not see any improvement in symptoms after 2 weeks of continuous use of this medicine, contact your doctor. Do not take Pantoprazole-ADGC for more than 4 weeks without consulting your doctor.

Take the tablet at the same time each day, before a meal. Swallow the tablet whole with some water. Do not chew or break the tablet.

Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the pack or the outer packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Hints

If you suffer from repeated heartburn or indigestion for a long time, remember to visit your doctor regularly.

ingredients

The active substance is pantoprazole. Each gastro-resistant tablet contains 20 mg pantoprazole (as sodium sesquihydrate).

The other ingredients are: Mannitol (Ph.Eur.), microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, disodium hydrogen phosphate, magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.) [vegetable], hypromellose, triethyl citrate, poly(ocarboxymethyl) starch sodium salt, methacrylic acid ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) and ferric hydroxide oxide X H2O.
