What is Synofen and how does it work?

Synofen film tablets from ratiopharm are a well-tolerated and fast-acting drug for relieving mild to moderate pain. The pain reliever relies on a combination of active ingredients consisting of 500 mg paracetamol and 200 mg ibuprofen.

Thanks to the joint action of both active ingredients, more effective and faster pain relief can be achieved. Compared to other painkillers - for example with 1,000 mg paracetamol or 400 mg ibuprofen - a stronger effect is possible in this way despite the lower proportion of active ingredients. Symptoms such as headaches, joint and back pain and toothache can be noticeably relieved after just 18 minutes.

Paracetamol and ibuprofen work in the body with different mechanisms of action and at different locations. Thanks to this synergy, the analgesic effect of Synofen film-coated tablets lasts up to 9 hours.

Application and dosage of Synofen painkillers

The painkiller is suitable for use in adults aged 18 and over. The following recommendations apply to the intake and dosage, unless otherwise prescribed:

• Take 1 tablet up to 3 times daily with a glass of water.
• Ideally, it should be taken with a meal.
• The interval between the individual doses should be at least 6 hours.
• A maximum of 6 tablets may be taken within 24 hours (equivalent to 1,200 mg ibuprofen and 3,000 mg paracetamol).

The pain medication should not be used for more than 3 days and should always be taken at the lowest dose and for the shortest duration needed to achieve noticeable pain relief.

Synofen should not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to ibuprofen, paracetamol or any of the other ingredients of the pain reliever. Children and adolescents under the age of 18 must not use Synofen.
