Indication : This drug contains the active ingredient tetryzoline hydrochloride and is an ophthalmic for decongestant use in the eye. It is used to treat temporary swelling of the mucous membranes caused by non-infectious eye irritation. Such irritations can occur from smoke, dust, wind, chlorinated water, light or allergic reactions such as hay fever involving the eyes. The drug is suitable for adults, adolescents and children over 2 years old. However, children between the ages of 2 and 6 should only be treated after consulting a doctor.
Dosage : Please always use this medication exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Children from 6 years, adolescents and adults: Unless otherwise directed, instill 1-2 drops in the affected eye 2-3 times a day. Remove contact lenses beforehand.
Children aged 2 and under 6 years: In children aged 2 to 6 years, the drug should only be used under medical supervision. The recommended dosage is 1 drop in the affected eye 2 to 3 times daily.
Children under 2 years of age: The drug must not be used in children under 2 years of age.
Duration of use: The medication should only be used for the shortest possible period of time necessary to treat symptoms. It should not be used for more than 5 consecutive days. Repeated applications should be undertaken with caution as long-term or excessive use may result in chronic swelling and/or damage to the conjunctiva. Long-term use can increase eye redness. If there is no improvement within 2 days or eye irritation, redness, or other symptoms persist or worsen, the medication should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.
Overdose : Overdose when applied to the eye is unlikely. However, accidental ingestion, especially in children, can cause serious side effects or poisoning. Symptoms of overdose may include cardiovascular problems, drowsiness, coma, hypothermia, slow heart rate, low or high blood pressure, respiratory failure, vomiting, drooling, miosis, lack of energy, dry mucous membranes, and chest pain.
